Independent Support Service

Independent Supporters provide additional support to families during the introduction of the new assessment process and the development of EHC plans.

They can help:

• When your child is being assessed for an EHC plan
• If your child has a statement that needs transferring to an EHC plan
• If your child has a Learning Difficulty Assessment (LDA) that needs transferring to an EHC plan

Once a request for an EHC has been agreed an Independent Supporter (IS) will automatically be offered.
