Sean Parkinson

Apprentice Travel Trainer

My role:

Hello All. My name is Sean and I came to Embrace two years ago as a volunteer and intern via Wigan and Leigh College and Supported Employment and progressing onto an apprenticeship through the Travel Training project.

My skills and knowledge with the bus routes and bus frequencies provided to be a huge help with my job and the people who I work with in the office. I’ve also joined the Travel Training Committee which is a group of Travel Trainers from around Manchester who all meet up several times a year in the offices of Transport for Greater Manchester to discuss improvements for travel provision and travel training in the area.

My Item:

The item I chosen was my Nintendo 3DS XL. When I take my 3DS out with me, I can exchange data with other 3DS consoles through a feature called “Street Pass”. I can also travel through my Animal Crossing game and go to new places and meet new players. This is what possibly started off my love for Travelling as I regularly take trips across the UK and Wales during my free time exploring new places and getting a different feel of the life in the area.
