When you go on holiday

When you go on holiday…

Hello everyone, it is Ella back with another blog, which this time is about when you go on holiday to a hotel that had said it was accessible on the booking form, but when you get there, you find that it isn’t accessible enough to make it adapted to make you feel independent. I hope you enjoy!

I have just got back off holiday from Rhodes, which was amazing. I loved the holiday, apart from the fact that the pools were layered, which meant they had steps and ramps. The steps and ramps were really sloppy when wet and they didn’t have hand rails. This meant I had to have someone walking around with me to get into the pool, and even then one day I still nearly fell when going down and up the ramps.

This made me feel like I had a lack of independence when I was there because I like being able to walk around and find my way to get around.
The big pool was too deep for me to be able to swim in because I like pools that are square so that I can find the side easily and that I can either stand up in or I can clearly see the deep end. This meant I went into the little pool, which had steps going into it with no handrails, so someone had to help me in and out of that or I had to crawl out of the pool, crawl up to the sun lounger and stand up that way. This also made me feel like I had no independence at all.
Apart from the above complaints about the hotel, it was amazing, the food was really nice and the weather was amazing.
Thanks for reading this blog. I really hoped you enjoyed reading it!
