History

The organisation has been around since the mid 1960's and was formerly known as Wigan and District Spastics Society.

In 2006 we changed out name to Embrace Wigan and Leigh and we commemorated the day by having our Relaunch Ball at the JJB Stadium.

Our Organisation is run by an Executive Management Committee made up of disabled people, family members, local business professionals, health care professionals and co-opted members.

We also have a membership for which we will offer a joining pack, information, advice, support, advocacy as well as a regular newsletter. We welcome everyone to join us either as members or to sit on our Management Committee. We want the membership to guide the organisation and provide us with the vision for the future.

We want to belong to you, the people and want to make a difference to the quality of your lives. To become a member you will need to fill out a membership form which you can request from our office.
