Equip for Life

One of our longest running schemes is our 'Equip for Life' individual grant application fund. This is open to our members who are in need of accessible equipment to allow them a higher quality of life.

It is only through the efforts of our supporters that we are able to offer this individual grant to families in the Wigan Borough. Without our dedicated and active fundraisers this scheme would simply not exist.

Your support really does make a difference

Items such as a profiling bed (a bed which alters the sleepers position) can really make a difference to a person’s life. They are able to sit-up in bed without difficulty and have a well rested sleep. It is the little things such as being able to ride an accessible bike or the being able to communicate for the first time using a communication aid that really brings home the importance of Equip for Life.

Where does the money come from?

All our grant funding comes from our hard fundraising efforts. Its our members which raise the funds for this grant process and as such is a very precious gift to the community.
