Embrace have an exciting new project funded by Wigan Council and is a support service for parents of children with disabilities. This project is primary aimed at people who have children between 0 and 19 however Embrace also offer a advocacy service between 19 and 50.
Embrace has dedicated Community Fieldworkers who can work with you on an individual basis to offer advocacy, advice and signposting in all aspects of your caring role. You may need assistance to attend meetings and our role can be to ensure your voice is heard.
Dealing with many organisations can leave you confused and the work of a Fieldworker can be to co-ordinate those roles for you, and take on some of the phoning around and assist you with letter writing.
We are independent and are able to offer up-to-date options on which way to turn, especially in times of crisis. We can signpost you to services to ensure you are fully informed about all that us going on in your local community, giving you and the person you care for the opportunity and choice to remain in control of your own lives.
